Yesterday we decided to practice speaking Spanish with Lily. Elbert turned around to her, waved, and said, "Hola." to which Lily replied (and continued saying for about 5 minutes) "Bye Hola!"
I was playing with Hayley yesterday and thought about Lily and her spanish... so I decided to see what Hayley would do with "hola" and "adios" instead of "hello" and "bye bye" (it was one of those toys where you twist/push/whatever and an animal pops out from behind a door and I was tired of peek-a-boo) and so I started saying "hola" when an animal popped out and she looked at me and said "no o la" time and time again... so then I tried the "adios" and she did the same thing "no ad os" .... it seems she's taking lily's side on determining when she'd like to learn new words.
nice.
ReplyDeleteI think her and Hayley would get along well at this stage. They seem to have the same sense of making words work for them.
